Which player is your favorite NFL franchise selecting in 2023 NFL Mock Drafts, and what should you know about them prior to the 2022 season?

It’s the middle of July, but that hasn’t stopped you, the fans, from conducting thousands of 2023 NFL Mock Drafts using the Pro Football Network Mock Draft Simulator. The 2023 NFL Draft will be here before you know it, so today, we aim to take a look at which players are heading to every NFL team based on your selections.

First things first, this will look different than your usual mock draft. In fact, it’s actually not that at all. This exercise showcases every fanbase’s collective thoughts on who they want their team to select. While some franchises don’t own a first-round pick, users are certainly doing their best with multi-round draft picks or trading up to secure their desired players.

Today, we aim to shed light on what you, the fans, have done with the PFN Mock Draft Simulator as we look at the percentage of times a player has been picked by users of the MDS for each team.

Note: These are only selections made by users and not by the computations via the Mock Draft Simulator.

Not to much surprise at the most-drafted player by a fanbase as the Jacksonville Jaguars are currently projected to pick No. 5 overall and need help at wide receiver. Jaxon Smith-Njigba may just be that safest wide receiver pick as he’s the top threat on the nation’s top offense. There may be some rarified air for Smith-Njigba and his quarterback C.J. Stroud as they both legitimately could be top-five picks.

The first quarterback off most boards that isn’t the big two of Stroud and Bryce Young is none other than Will Levis . Interestingly enough, Levis heads to the Minnesota Vikings in over a quarter of user drafts for the franchise. Whether you are a fan of Kirk Cousins leading the team or not, it appears fans’ patience with the signal-caller is growing thin.

Levis showcased tremendous growth in 2021 as the leader of the Wildcats, dotting the field with some impressive throws. He offers a lot of upside as he’s an inexperienced quarterback who performed incredibly well in his first year of starting in the SEC.

The Kansas City Chiefs are projected to pick at the tail end of Round 1 (No. 30 overall). Even with that many picks ahead of them, the users clearly are in tune with what the team needs. Notre Dame EDGE Isaiah Foskey is one of three defensive lineman picked by Chiefs’ users a heavy portion of the time.

Foskey, however, comes in just under a quarter of the time as the long defensive end brings with him the high-level potential to be a game-wreaker off the edge.

This one was arguably the least shocking as the Miami Dolphins are selecting Texas RB Bijan Robinson 20.3% of the time in Pro Football Network Mock Draft Simulator simulations.

What was interesting is the fact that Robinson’s average draft position sat right at 24.2, as it appears users are split between which first-round pick to select him with. Robinson is a game changer and brings with him an elusiveness in the open field and elite vision.

Heavily mocked to several teams, TCU WR Quentin Johnston is going to the Green Bay Packers 19.9% of the time. Johnston has terrific size at 6’4″ and 212 pounds and comes with incredibly high projections. He’s explosive at the line of scrimmage and at the catch point. He’d become an instant threat to be Aaron Rodgers’ preferred target.

Yes, you read it correctly. The (Wild)cat is out of the bag here as Levis is the top drafted player from yet another franchise. The Seattle Seahawks currently own two first-round picks, and it appears that fans are hoping that the Drew Lock experiment, even though he hasn’t taken a snap with the team yet, is just a one-year deal.

Levis is heading to Seattle 19.6% of the time with an average draft position of 19.6, oddly enough, meaning fans are using both of their first-round picks to select the Kentucky quarterback.

The future is coming for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as 17.9% of users are drafting Tom Brady’s eventual replacement. Tyler Van Dyke has the chance to rewrite the Miami history book as he can take the next step with Josh Gattis calling the plays in 2022.

Van Dyke showed great promise as a downfield thrower but needs to show consistency with making his progressive reads. The jury is out, but the hype is there. If Van Dyke turns out to be what most think he can be, he may not even be available for the Bucs to draft at the end of the first round in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Another tight end heads to Tennessee as draft simulator users are pegging Notre Dame TE Michael Mayer on nearly 18% of their picks. Mayer transcends the position as he plays all three facets on offense to an elite or near-elite level. What separates him, however, is his ability in the receiving game, where he’s a master of his craft.

The future of the secondary for the Buffalo Bills is in flux as both Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde are getting longer in the tooth and nearing the end of their contracts. As you’d expect, the Bills are likely in the market for a safety in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Jordan Battle is a favorite to land with the team as fans have shown. Battle has great ball skills and covers a ton of ground in all facets. He’d be a great fit to rejuvenate the Bills’ secondary.

The big man in the middle, Jalen Carter is staying in the state of Georgia on 15.5% of Atlanta Falcons’ picks. Carter is a massive man with tremendous skills both pre- and post-snap.

He’ll hop gaps to blow up the intended point of attack or chase down the ball carrier from behind. Carter is a tremendous pass rusher and developed his game to an elite level at a young age already. He’s a defense-transforming player.

The Philadelphia Eagles are selecting Myles Murphy from Clemson on 14.8% of their drafts by users. Murphy is a physically-imposing specimen who has improved in each of the past two seasons. The Eagles are selecting Murphy, who brings a tremendous versatility that will do wonders for the Philadelphia defensive line.

Moving from guard to left tackle in 2022, Myles Murphy is one of the nation’s top candidates for the first lineman drafted. Indianapolis Colts fans are strong at the top for four players, including Johnson, all of which are on the offensive side of the ball. Johnson edges out a duo of quarterbacks to be the top-selected player as his versatility would pair nicely as he can play both inside and outside at the next level.

The first of the top quarterbacks to be selected to one team is C.J. Stroud to the Detroit Lions on 12% of user picks. Stroud displayed linear growth last season, leading the Buckeyes to new heights on offense and breaking 17 school records in the process.

He’s the nation’s top middle-of-the-field passer and has a rocket for an arm. Lions fans are selecting him with an average draft position of 4.2, the highest for either one of the quarterbacks with a draft percentage over 10%.

Arguably the top player in the 2023 NFL Draft, Will Anderson Jr. may have even been the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft had he been eligible. The New York Jets are selecting Anderson and Jalen Carter at a combined rate of 23% of the time as they clearly want to address the defensive line in April.

Anderson has some of the top pass-rush moves that we’ve seen in some time. He’s got a high motor and tremendously refined hands for his age. He’ll be a candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year no matter where he goes.

As big of a projected pick as there is, Justin Flowe has hardly played during his time at Oregon. Yet, the big linebacker offers ridiculous upside with his frame and athletic profile. The Los Angeles Chargers are projected to select 25th overall right now, and Flowe is likely to be there. As such, nearly 12% of users are drafting the Oregon linebacker to add to an incredibly talented defense.

Looking at the New York Giants’ top-drafted player with the projected seventh overall pick, Georgia CB Justin Flowe appears to be the fan favorite. With great range and terrific size, Ringo may usher in a new era of long cornerbacks with freakish speed to boot. He has great ball skills and could be a starter on a number of NFL defenses, especially the CB-needy Giants’ unit.

Another Will Anderson Jr. sighting as the Houston Texans are selecting the edge defender from Alabama with an average draft position of 3.3 on 11.6% of their mocks. That’s the third-lowest draft position for a player with a double-digit percentage of a team’s simulations, behind only Atlanta’s picking of Anderson and Carter. As stated, Anderson is a defense-changing player and would give Houston a brand new identity off the edge.

The Cincinnati Bengals did all they could to try and fix their offensive line woes this past offseason. As such, Bengals fans are hitting the trenches again, but this time on the defensive side of the ball. Bryan Bresee is the top pick for the Bengals. The Clemson defender has a ridiculous upside because of his combination of speed and strength. He’ll rush the passer from a variety of alignments and has tremendous strength for his compact frame.

It appears as if the Chicago Bears fans are torn on two receivers: Jordan Addison and Quentin Johnston. When deciphering who to pick here, we slid with Addison as he’s being drafted with an average draft position of 11.5.

Addison, the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner, has transferred to USC after hauling in passes at Pittsburgh during Kenny Pickett’s historic 2021 season. He’ll again have an NFL-caliber quarterback throwing his way with the Trojans and has the chance to explode even further onto the scene in Lincoln Riley’s offense.

One of the top edge defending duos in the sport this season hails from LSU, and the Arizona Cardinals are grabbing one-half of them as their preferred player. BJ Ojulari will pair with Ali Gaye to form a quarterback’s worst nightmare in 2022, and the former heads out west to the desert on 9.6% of Cardinals’ sims. Ojulari has excellent size and power as he brings reckless abandon with technical refinement in his game.

The first true interior offensive lineman makes an appearance as Emil Ekiyor is headed to the Dallas Cowboys on the majority of their user sims. Dallas gets a big man in the middle who can play either guard spot, obviously landing opposite Zach Martin in Big D. Ekiyor is a high-character player with a terrific anchor and highlight-reel play in his run-blocking reps.

Needing more than just one offensive lineman this offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers are fond of Peter Skoronski — at least based on fan picks. Skoronski will have to deal with being an undersized traditional tackle, something like his former teammate and current Los Angeles Chargers LT Rashawn Slater had to deal with as he transitioned to the pros.

Like Slater, Skoronski’s speed and ability to redirect his body in pass protection or run blocking will pay dividends as he loses nothing in his movement and could blossom into a stalwart pass protector against any number of edge defenders.

Another Myles Murphy sighting as well as it appears edge defenders are at a premium in this class for a few teams. The Las Vegas Raiders are selecting Murphy on 9.1% of their drafts with an average draft position of 15.1, right where they’re projected. If Murphy slides to the Raiders at No. 15, you can bet the fans will be happy with this pick, it seems.

The Washington Commanders may be in need of a quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, it appears the fans have bought into Carson Wentz as the savior for this season and potentially Sam Howell for the future, as none of their seven most-drafted players are quarterbacks.

In fact, only one of the top seven most-drafted players hail from the offensive side of the ball, and it’s TE Michael Mayer. Eli Ricks is the most popular pick and comes right at their projected draft position as the ceiling is high for the LSU-to-Alabama transfer.

Sure, the Carolina Panthers traded a conditional 2024 NFL Draft pick for Baker Mayfield. Sure, they have Sam Darnold. Yes, to all of that. Bryce Young is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and very clearly the second-best quarterback of this draft class.

The Panthers fans are selecting Young right at the sixth pick, but it’s close with who fans really want as the degrees of separation between Young and two different offensive linemen are a mere 1.1 percentage points.

Another Alabama cornerback in the DMV? Why not, as Baltimore Ravens’ users are selecting Malachi Moore the majority of the time. Unlike most of the numbers ahead of them, however, their majority is slim as users are grabbing wide receivers or cornerbacks but aren’t quite sold on one of them yet. Moore has a tremendous nose for the football and great ball skills to boot. If he were to land in Baltimore, he’d have quite the cornerback room to learn from.

That’s another one for Bryan Bresee as he joins two other defensive linemen to have their names be at the top of fans’ lists for draft picks. Bresee is heading to the New England Patriots on just over 7% of the time as New England fans are truly torn between who they want to select. If it is Bresee, the Pats will have a future clogger of the middle and fierce pass rusher.

The Los Angeles Rams kick off the segment of teams without a first-round pick in 2023. As such, their percentages are going to be sky-high as our data is looking just at first-round picks. This means that on multiple occasions, users have traded into the first round for the Rams.

And on 50% of those instances, they’ve traded up for Utah CB Clark Phillips III . A speedster with great coverage skills, Phillips could easily play his way into Round 1 with another dominant year as he had in 2021.

The Saints’ first pick is in Round 2, and like the Rams, they have seen plenty of users trade up. What makes their selection interesting is that they’re picking Tyler Van Dyke to replace Jameis Winston as the team’s eventual starter.

Van Dyke, also pegged as the heir apparent by fans of the Bucs to Tom Brady, has a high ceiling if he can learn to get past his offense’s scripted playbook. He’ll be one of the season’s most-watched quarterbacks, and you can bet the Saints will have their eye on him if Winston doesn’t pan out this year.

While the Denver Broncos don’t select until the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, that hasn’t stopped users from getting the franchise into Round 1 during Pro Football Network Mock Draft Simulator runs.

In fact, the Broncos are selecting in the first round the most out of the five teams that don’t own a first-round pick. Fans are grabbing Alabama LB Henry To’oTo’o the most. To’oTo’o can go sideline to sideline with ease and is at his best when he’s patrolling the flats in coverage.

The Cleveland Browns sent the majority of the draft picks in multiple deals for Amari Cooper and Deshaun Watson. As such, they’re probably not going to be factors in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but users have seen if they can get up there.

Surprisingly, fans are grabbing LSU WR Kayshon Boutte the most, securing him as the end result on 20% of the trade-up scenarios. Boutte could be WR1 when this process is all said and done but will once again have to deal with middling quarterback play unless LSU can figure out their QB dilemma.

Projected to pick at the tail end of Round 2, the San Francisco 49ers are far from being factors at the top of the 2023 NFL Draft. Yet, if a certain player slides, San Francisco fans are willing to pull the trigger on sending multiple picks to get back into Round 1. Nolan Smith is a mean man off the edge with a terrific pass-rushing skill set.

If he’s available, the 49ers are selecting him with an average draft position of 18.8 in the first round. Wonder what they’d be comfortable with trading up to secure his services? Run your own sim to find out.
